Hey folks!

I remember reading a couple years ago that in kmquake2 it was possible to integrate Reckoning and Ground Zero assets into the vanilla mission, or each other. kmquake2 didn't work too well on my previous machine though, so I forgot about quake 2 for a long while before revisiting it. I always liked the atmosphere of the game a lot, but I really like the new stuff from the expansions too.

So what I know how to do is adding command line parameters such as + set basegame baseq2; + set basegame2 xatrix; + set game rogue etc. That indeed lets me use assets from the expansions in vanilla (the one that's first in the command line will have fully textured weapons, the second will have weapon functionality but no models and projectiles). The thing is - I can only access these new weapons through cheats, they don't appear anywhere in the game of their own accord.

I remember reading that it was possible to somehow mix in Reckoning and Ground Zero enemies with the base game's, whereby they will replace some enemies similar to their nature randomly, likewise weapon and ammo pickups will randomly replace some of the original games' pre-placed pickups. The only problem is that for the life of me, I have no idea how to do this! I'd really like to try playing vanilla quake2 with the extra weapons and enemies! Even if it's only possible to borrow from a single mission pack at a time, that'd still be something. Any advice on how to proceed?
