I'm playing the new Nightdive Quake II on a Steam Deck in Nightmare difficulty, but even w/ all goals completed & secrets found I'm still stuck at 70/71 kills in Lower Palace of Unit 9 & can't find the 1 remaining Strogg I need to kill.

A year-old r/quake post, prior to this new version of the game coming out of course, found it to be a technical issue w/ the old Hard+ (now Nightmare) difficulty which was supposedly fixed in Yamagi, I'll link my citations below. I really don't want to progress further 'til I can get this sorted, so please help me!

So you did going whole map back and forward again?
Looks like same random issues as in original engine. Some units spwand but stuck in rooftops.

Worse if it is medics or new medic commanders repsawned units if their fall under the floor. Very rare case in original engine but happened. Actually i think their should die there.

Who is counted as alive is stuck fliers. One of 3 in the bunch can stuck outside of level. He can disappear entirely (even using noclip). But their will still counted as not killed un-like every else enemies do when they kill themselfs somehow (fall) or each other.
Again, this is original engine. Excuse moa to bother you in your Enhanced threads with such info.

Can you remember original game? Enhanced have differ maps. New areas. New enemies type and more count of all enemies. Did they encrease Fliers count? Maybe they fail it make their spawnpoint not so accurate to spawn all 3 in a bunch correctly.

All such Fliers come as result of some triggers. So whole bunch 3 of 3 can be missed if trigger bugged. Never happened in original game to not spawned all 3 of bunch.

Yep I did, can't spot the missing Strogg, Nightdive won't even respond to my requests for assistance. Worse yet, I restarted the unit to give it another go & now I'm trapped in the other section of Upper Palace (not the section w/ the exit), I literally can't leave it w/o the game crashing to: 'Exception caught in main: see CRASHLOG.TXT for info'. I'll need to contact Nightdive again.

big job one person did on Quake Wikia.

Hmm... Preambula are absolutely correct. There is secrets not recognised, kills. Some kills "broken" based on dificulty. Too much levels listed there looks for me. I did 98% on Hard on PC-Win version. One missed railgun-ner in large crate on some level (MP level have one side of crate open). One known unrecognised secret.

There is secrets not counted as secrets, on bugged level too. So one of uncounted secrets as secrets should be counted and add to stats but didnt.

And as i mentioned above one level (where you collect Command Tank head) on one of corridors there is two dogs that can stack in rooftop when they spawned. Walk there again, save-load or out and enter entrance again fix them. Or they can spawn normally.
Such randomness i never faced on Palace levels.

Only one secret always bugged and only one missed enemy on one level only on Hard. They always bugged/stack. And there is always-bug for Addons.

Yamagi have mapfix folder and dynamic loaded fixes there with game pack unaltered. I guess both official Q2 remasters do the same, as Wikia mentioned - not all bugs fixed even in 2023 remaster.
