Looking at the Quake 2 page it seems they've updated the description and all that to match the one in Steam. I don't see any update on the downloads page yet (for the offline installer, I mean), and the installation still launches the original game, but it seems it should be coming down soon enough.

I'm pretty much surprised and happy that they learnt from the Quake one. Cheers!

EDIT: It looks like in GoGDB there are two entries for Quake 2:

https://www.gogdb.org/product/1443696817, which seems to be for the older one
https://www.gogdb.org/product/1441704824, which seems to be created just today.

Hopefully they are doing the "two games separated" and we can keep the older and newer installations.

EDIT 2: Oh, there's an official announcement: https://www.gog.com/news/update_quake_ii_with_its_enhanced_version

Yeah, nice parallel release. At least on the store page :)

No updated files yet ...

Edit: My library now contains an entry for "Quake 2 (Original)", which is the original Quad Damage package. Still no sign of the remaster.

I'm seeing now a "Quake 2 (Original)" and a "Quake 2", which gets installed into "Quake II enhanced."

Refresh the account and try again https://www.gog.com/account/refresh
What a lovely surprise!
Honestly, that was awful nice of GOG & ID to let those of us who purchased Quake 2 have the new expansion + Quake 64 for free.
In my library there is only Quake II (Original) and Quake II RTX and Quake II.

So why not label properly. Is this too much to ask for?

well we did just get a free game so thats no big deal i think.
I agree, not a big deal. Just a single word. Besides: look up 'Quake Enhanced'.
Happily I would throw $$$ at every remastered gem from back in the days.
