Image scaling issue.

You can edit the DOSBox config file and make the full screen resolution match your display.

Or go into the graphics driver and enable aspect ratio scaling.
Mmm, nope, its not scaling issue.

Its about quake default resolution 640x400 (what i'm seeing in settings screen). And i cant change it via usuall addition to shortcut:

C:\Games\Quake\Glquake.exe -width 1920 -height 1280

Well 640 x 400 displayed with black bars IS a scaling issue LOL

Lots of options, but in the future please provide more information. Like do you play DOSBox, GLQuake direct, GLQuake through nGLide...

Best is to use a modern Quake engine. Or update GLQuake to version 0.97 then the resolution shortcuts will work.

Well, i'm on gog, so i'm playing gog release. Its using glquake, and work via nglide...
Ok, looks like i solved black top bar problem. For some strange reason game runs in 640x400. So i changed it via shordcut addition to normal 4:3 resolution:

C:\Games\Quake\Glquake.exe -width 640 -height 480 -bpp 32

But for some strange reason anything higher then this crashing game.
I mentioned this before. GOG uses an old GLQuake, which crashes.

Upgrade to 0.97.
Run the game using Windows 95 compatibility, it solved the problem for me.
quakespasm or qbism, seriously. There is no reason to use the original engine!
Hey all. Just bought this game. I had the same exact 70%ish screen issue. Open up the main game directory and find glquake.exe. Right click it and click compatibility tab. Whee the drop down list is for compatibility mode, select windows 95 mode. Works perfect for me. I haven't selected any other modes, not have I been able to confirm what exact resolution I'm running the game in, but it looks fine. Hope this helps.
