I compiled all the screenshots from the HydrogenAudio Quake CDDA thread www.hydrogenaud.io/forums/index.php?showtopic=104876 and compared with Quake from the GOG release.

I don't think the PC Quake released on GOG is de-emphasized based on the Spectro screenshot attached.

I converted the cue file from Linux to Windows format with Notepad++, and extracted the first audio track with Binchunker.

You can also see the GOG release has part of the next audio track at the end, so I wonder if the cue file can be adjusted to fix the gaps.

EDIT:
I just realized I put no de-emphasis in the screenshot text where I should have put no pre-emphasis.

In one of my threads on here I ripped the audio from my personal Quake CD and de-emped it to OGG.

Could you please, for the record, state again what you exactly mean LOL

There are so many conflicting snippets in the Internet, just want to make sure what you're saying.

I did a Quake GOG Tweak Guide video and comparing the spectrum images, they looked pre-emphasised.

In the end I think people should just judge with their ears.

Anywhere in the picture I attached that says "de-emphasis" should say "pre-emphasis".

I should have given this post the title "GOG Quake PC Not Pre-Emphasised"

The first 2 spectrums in the picture should have their audio de-emphasised with a tool like SoX. The bottom 3 spectrums don't need their audio to be de-emphasized.

I also saw a post somewhere in this forum that the first part of the next song appears in the current song, and you can see that in the last spectrum at the far right.
So basically:

1) You recommend not doing anything to the tracks (e.g. not running de-emphasis filter)
2) They might have made a mistake with the BIN / CUE sheets and got the track times wrong?

Yes, that is correct.
