Just got Quake the offering and when I try to launch it it says "Couldn't set fullscreen DIB mode" how do I fix this issue?

When i try to play "Quake II" (as selected in the Launcher), I don't get a full-screen game, I get a window, with the bottom clipped (specifically, it only shows the top half of the Quake status bar while the game runs. (See screenshot attached.) If I select a different game in the Launcher, I get expected behavior (i.e. the game runs full-screen and I can see all of it).

Is there any way to change this behavior? Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
