The highlight of Quake II's remaster (and Quake I's to an extent) is the multiplayer. Oh my god, these remasters have caused the multiplayer arena shooter to come back, and it's so glorious. But I'm not here to gush about the multiplayer. I'm here to post this as a signal in case anyone encounters an unsavoury player in the game, be it through chatting unwanted things, cheating, or genuinely being a smeghead.

I encountered one day of this writing in Quake II. It was instagib. I went from The Dark Place to The Edge, and during that interim, a certain player posted political gunk (Trump 2024 in case you're wondering). I immediately responded
"Fuck off with that political shit"
And he responded by telling me to "Fuck off with that apolitical shit."
Yeah, needless to say, as someone deactivated his Twitter due to idiots of both kinds bringing politics into games, in this case hypocritical anti-SJWs having profane loud temper tantrums over a minor far-left element in a certain game (no names, I'm trying to be neutral here), I wasn't having it, so I posted a negative response, and quit the server, jumping over to a Threewave CTF server instead.

It goes without saying in multiplayer, you WILL encounter deranged individuals, be they unwanted political shitheads or scammers, or cheaters, so having posted my case, I'm leaving this here for others to post their encounters with shady players in these games.
