LiefLayer: Because they want to push you to pay for gamepass.
I see no other reason. I got a month of free gamepass with my pc (I don't even dream to pay for such a thing) so I tried this game yesterday and there is no reason for it to be 60€, it should be half of that at full price.
I'll wait for it to be under 20€ to buy it drm free on gog (I want to own games that I like to play them again in the future, I don't like subscriptions, I only used it because I got one month free and I don't like to waste this kind of promo).
I suggest you to just wait for a good sale, there is no real reason to pay that kind of money for a game that is just a more of the same, and I know it is also late when you look at the release date on the crowd funding campaign (not just that... If you make a crowd fund you should stay indie, I hate that both double fine and obsidian asked for money only to be bought by Microsoft... If you are not indie you should use the publisher money, don't ask anything).
Wow what hot garbage. First off Microsoft doesn't need to recoup the costs of this game. They already have. It's a great game worth the full price and the current sale price which is for both games... I see no other reason. This game has also been 40-60% off multiple times since launch on PC and Xbox.
Don't like gamepass? The service that you can pay for a 3 month sub to ultimate and then have it free forever by using gamepass rewards. I'm paid through Dec 2024 and I earn about $25 a month in Xbox gift cards at minimum.
For every dollar you spend on games and movies you also get points. You even get them if you used the free money you got just for doing the quests which takes maybe an hour total a month but usually 30 min.
You also get 20% off everything on Microsoft and Xbox.com. that's hardware/accessories, movies, games and dlc.
You also get ea access for free and a discount on ea games.
Every month I find something new to play. Something I'd never have played otherwise. This months example is Tunic. It's fantastic. It plays like a mix between SNES Zelda and Dark Souls but not as hard.
What's not to like? Cause exchange rates have changed and it also costs more for game licensing in Australia? Like I said pay for 3 months and get it free FOREVER.
Microsoft isn't funding development of indie games or forcing them to be exclusive. You hate that obsidian and double fine used crowd funding and then got bought out... Ok but neither knew MS was going to make an offer and the money provided by MS allowed the games to be better. They also didn't block them from being on every PC store front.
It sounds more like you're angry at MS for offering a killer value then anything else. Some of these games would never even be made without them. Some of them aren't even console exclusive, they are on PS4 &5. They are also on steam, epic, gog etc.
Gosh golly I really hate Microsoft offering a service that you can get free and that offers other perks beyond games.
I don't need to buy this because I have it free but I'm going to buy it and a 2nd copy from gog to give away. No I won't tell you where the giveaway is happening. Actually I will I just won't be specific. It's going to start on discord in....5 min. 2 copies of psychonaughts 1 & 2 up for grabs.
Such a ridiculous set of arguments.
rogerT: sorry ... i'm generally speaking.
All the AA and AAA are launched a specific day, because the Marketing director says so...
Examples ? well, Cyberpunk 2077, days gone ( on PS4 : i had to download 2 or 3 times the size of the full game in order
to get a "stable" game !! Unacceptable on a console... ), etc.
So My general rule is this : wait 2 or 3 months - at least - after day one, before buying a game.
Of course it's much more complicate to adapt a game on a PC : you have an infinite amount of configurations !!
but still... We , more or less, gamers use Windows...
Oh and cyberpunk... Released because investors were going to sue CDPR. Marketing had nothing to do with it and if it wasn't for the year and a half they spent trying to get it to run on the base PS4 and it's 12 year old laptop CPU then it wouldn't have turned out the way it did All the AA and AAA are launched a specific day, because the Marketing director says so...

As for Days Gone.... That large team has almost 5 years to make the game and they came up with some truly terrible ai, slow bikes that run out of gas every 5 seconds and horses you can trick by ducking in grass. I don't think more dev time was gonna help.
Oh and its LESS complicated to make a PC game. Infinite potential hardware combinations is a line des to you by devs who made bad ports. It wàsnt until Vulkan and dx12 that devs had to work harder but those apis also allow them to double performance so their reasoning is terrible. Especially when you look at idtech and doom and even Wolfenstein as far as visuals and performance go.
2-3 months probably isn't gonna help unless it's dx11.
