Sooo... anyone know if will this work on a Thinkpad X230 running Windows 7?
To hell...NO!

I play it on Ryzen 3500U (4/8T, Vega 8)... and there a some rare (un)playable sections with 5fps in 1400x1050; while most of game went 25-30fps.

1024x768 could be a chance to have a similar behaviour on your system; but then your image is very blurry & washed out.

I bet even Psychonauts 1 is rarely playable on this system.

Yeah, with Intel Graphics of the 3000 generation you will NOT have a good time trying to play this.
And as mentioned, not sure Psychonauts 1 will even run on that.

I'm running an AMD Ryzen 5 3600 with a GTX 1060 6gb. It runs fairly stable on high in 1920x1080, usually sitting around 60fps, but with some sections stuttering occasionally. Usually right after load or when big effects go off.
Psychonauts 1 actually runs okay on this - I had hopes for 2 as it doesn't look that much improved in the videos I've watched (Admittedly hard to tell due to video encoding), but I suspected this might be the case. It's like how EDF5 doesn't look that much better than EDF4.1 but really doesn't work well on here despite EDF41.1 running just fine! DoubleFine aren't well known for their well optimised engines alas...

Ah well...

Thanks for the honest answers!

Maybe if Lenovo finally release the T14 Gen2 AMD and DoubleFine do a Linux version I'll take a look - This X230 is going to be my last Windows machine.

At least I've got Streets of Rage 4! That game is so damned good... I just wish GOG would publish Jets and Guns 2 as well...

A small question, I have a ryzen 5 with a 3400g and I was wondering if I can run the game with that. It's an integrated graphic card. Thank you very much for your help.

I doubt an integrated graphics card would run the game very well. Have you played any other games on the laptop? What was the performance like?

Its a desktop but it was on sale. So far I've been able to play even modern games which is why I thought i could run it.

The games at the top of my head are Resident Evil 3 Remake, Cyberpunk 2077, Resident Evil Village. I think those are the most demanding games I played and it ran well, it was on low and 30 fps but I don't really mind.

With psychonauts I can't play it. When I put run game it says that there was a lowlevel error. Supposedly if you had it on Steam you can add for it to run with direct x 11 but I haven't found any other way to do that.

I'm sorry to hear that. I'm not sure what else would work. I did some searching on forcing a game to launch with DX11 and this is what I found:

Find the game and right-click the shortcut exe (not the main one), then select Properties.
Under the Shortcut Tab, you should see the Target field with the directory path of the main exe.
Leave the path alone, but type in the dialox box at the end of the target string -force-d3d11 and click OK.
Close the Properties window.
Run the game through the shortcut.

No idea if this will help though. I hope you eventually get it sorted out though.
