I've recently read (wikipedia) that Psychonauts was ported to Linux.

Psychonauts now available for Linux (thepowerbase.com)
Linux game database - Psychonauts (lgdb.org)

This is, afaik, a legitimate port¹ and thus has urged me to ask if this will be made available for those who have purchased Psychonauts through GOG?

I am aware of the initiative in the Community Wishlist to bring more Linux versions to applicable games.

Any confirmation on GOG's stance towards Linux versions or general information regarding this topic would be welcome.

¹. The port was done by Icculus (Ryan Gordon) (wikipedia); without using winelibs unlike the Mac port and Limbo.

Yup I'm also hoping to get it.. since I've finally have hosed the windows partition. You probably have a lot linux folk buying stuff from you.
I ended up buying the Humble Indy Bundle V simply to get a native binary. It's unfortunate that GOG can't provide the tarballs as-is much like (read: exactly like) HIB.

There is absolutely no need to "support" any distributions. Provide the binaries and libraries as the game developer has released them and let the maintainers of various distributions and their communities do all the "support" and integration work.

This mentality of having to support "multiple distributions", as if it meant anything, is an ignorant understanding of Linux. (I guess this is true when GOG mentions BSD in a list of distributions.)

Rant: If you're going to try "support" Linux, please don't. Just give the package as the game developer released it and let the community do all the work. By trying to make your own branded halfarsed packaging system, you'll simply end up making their (maintainers) work that much harder.

Is there *any* statement (official or semi-official) from gog on whether it's possible to distribute the linux version? Would be good to even inform on weather you are working on it, you just don't care to keep your customers content, or it will not happen (eg. double fine is blocking it)?

And yes, just release the package if possible, I'm a even happier archer after that ;)

It isn't related to Psychonauts but to Double Fine and Humble Bundle, so I just post it here:
https://www.humblebundle.com/double-fine

Vote for short project, Double Fine is planning to work on. Who watch their monthly KS updates probably knows what this is all about.
