Hello everyone,

I've seen somewhere a recommendation to use a Controller instead of Keyboard&Mouse, however I absolutely cannot play anything with a brick in my hand.
I fail to do the most basic tasks, even in Games like the Final Fantasy Series, where you truly do not need any precision at all.

So ... as Psychonauts is a Console Plattformer and was only brought over to PC, how user friendly is the Keyboard & Mouse Control?
If its not good, I fear I'll have to pass on this game, that seems to be a "must have classic" :/

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Dai
I may be biased, because I don't have any sort of controller and therefore I play all my PC games with keyboard+mouse (some of them even only with keyboard OR mouse), and I always seem to be able to play games others complain are "unplayable" with keyboard+mouse -- to the point that I'm actually better at some games using KB+M than those "pros" with their gamepads.

Psychonauts is definitely not one of the "worst offenders" when it comes to keyboard and mouse controls, I think it controls rather nicely, kind of like your usual PC action-adventure game, but with platforming added to the mix. I never had any camera controls and I surely never died once on account of the control scheme, which sometimes happens when games are designed with gamepads in mind and I have to play them without controllers.

I'd say you should buy it, as it's one of the best games ever made and most definitely playable with your run-of-the-mill mouse and keyboard.
I agree with groze - Psychonauts play nicely with keyboard and mouse. Like him I played so long with keyboard that playing with a console controller is hard for me (although I'm trying~!). The only problem I could have in game would be in fighting games, performin 360-720 movements, but only because I've never trained to learn how to do them.
So, uhm... back to the topic. You said, Daihatschi, that you are bad with controlers from the start. If so I think you shouldn't force yourself to use them. 'Controler Recommended' usualy means that if you play with them, then they would be better for you. More rarely that the port is bad. :P And in this case it's the former - if you are good with a pad then I may suit you. Like in all games you will have to adjust to mechanics to be precise and swift with them, but playing with keyboard/mouse won't be a handicap. :)
