...Ultima Online.
I'm talking about classic Ultima Online back in the early days. Those who need flashy graphics probably won't like Project Zomboid, but as an 'older' gamer who played UO back when it started, and did so for over ten years, I'm fine with the graphics. They serve their purpose and what matters most with PZ and did originally with UO, is the gameplay.
I do so wish I could play PZ online with other people, because I imagine it would be a blast. Sadly I'm on a satellite internet connection out in a rural part of Spain. For downloading/uploading my connection is great, but it would lag terribly with an online game because of the latency.
That said, when I was first playing UO it was with a dialup connection from the UK, on USA shards and it wasn't too bad. Wasn't great for PvP combat and I would usually end up dead, but for everything else like role-play and other activities, it was fine. If anyone can share experiences playing online with a limited connection, please comment. Likewise, suggestions for servers or groups playing online, with more of a role-play emphasis, as any PvP might obviously be limited for me, much as I enjoy that too.
My congratulations to the developers for making Project Zomboid such an immersive game and good luck with the continued development. I would imagine it's very difficult deciding what to add and particularly, what to leave out of the game. There's no end to the possibilities and I'm looking forward to how the task of adding 'living' NPC's to interact with, is implemented.
