I can finally join Hosting servers, but I'm getting an error that I don't understand.
Attachments:
For the record, it says:

File doesn't match the one on the server:
media/scripts/items_food.txt.

This is followed by the file location and it just shows my folder...
I can't seem to join any Server because I always get this error. Does anyone know how to fix this?
Try reinstalling your game.

Vodnik: Try reinstalling your game.
I deleted and reinstalled the whole game. Didn't fix a thing...
At first, I wasn't able to connect to any server. Now, I'm able to connect to hosts, but am unable to play on them...

I sure wish I know what to do...
Alrighty, so, I looked online. Apparently, other hosts have to either reinstall the game, or re-install that file in order for *me* to join them. And I have no idea why that is. I'd ask Technical Help, but I feel like that is about the extent that I can do here until a solution is made on the developer's end...

So, I cannot play online till then...

This happens to me as well but with a different file, ISVehicleMenu.lua

I wish I could just disable the checksum tests and have the server list just show my server as "cheating enabled" or something. All of these dedicated servers trying to prevent cheating by assuming that I am a cheater beforehand. Can you please just let me play?
Maybe you're trying to connect to servers with mods installed? Do you choose vanilla servers?

Or maybe this could be some problem with crossplay (steam/gog different versions?) I have seen some 'gog-servers' - have you tried to choin those?

EDIT: @ran_red: Never mind. I saw your other post too late.

I am genuinely curious what the problem is. And why its so unique.

But most importantly, I'd like to somehow inform the creators of this error and have it fixed..
It is not a unique problem, it is very common.

There is a lot more talk about the issue in the Steam forums (where the community is larger), but bottom line - there is a mismatch between mod files on your client and the ones on the server. Sometimes the client needs to update, sometimes the server. Only real solution is to go through the process of ensuring both client and server are up to date, with the same mods, of the same mod version, at the same time.

If it's not your server, you're at the mercy of the server host to get to a point your client can match.

Turning off LUA checksums on the server can often "fix" it as well, but you're likely to see weirdness somewhere along the way.
