I am trying to host a dedicated server so I can play with my friends. I installed Project Zomboid from GOG on my computer (running Linux) and the dedicated server with SteamCMD on an Ubuntu VM on my server.

When I first ran the server it said "enter password", I did and the server ran fine but I couldn't connect. I killed the server and checked the newly created Zomboid dir in my home dir and there was a servertest.ini with password set to *blank*, so it looks like the initial password prompt does nothing on Linux?

I modified the servertest.ini, changed the "-Dzomboid.steam=0" setting on ProjectZomboid64.json (since the server is running on SteamCMD but my game is from GOG) and I could connect to my external IP address, picked a map, created a character and then got the error that the checksum of ISVehicleMenu.lua doesn't match the server version.

I have no mods installed and this is a fresh install on both the client and the server. Reinstalling everything does nothing.
