The game sounds alone freak me out, when the music fades and you are left with only the lonely sound of the wind, rain splashing down interrupted by the odd shotgun blast in the distance or the static hiss of a TV left on. That shrill bark of a dog quickly cut off into a scream makes me jump every darn time. The first time I heard someone screaming in agony I ran out to try and save them to no avail. I did find a neighbor the next day, barricaded inside their house but all walking dead inside and I wondered was it them that cried for help?

I so glad I gave this GID a go

now I have to ask, did anyone else run out of their shelter to wave down the helicopter thinking rescue was at hand? LOLOL
Thanks for the kind words <3 really happy you enjoyed and don't regret diving in¬ :)
It's probably the most fun with a game that I have played in years. Well done lemmy 101, well done!

I found this recent utube video of a players last stand...... it says it all about what this game is like, the visceral feeling as you watch your shelter being racked

My wife gets scared just being in the same room as me when I'm playing. Bravo!

Immersive qualities aside, this is the best game I've purchased in years. I can't remember obsessing about a game this much since Minecraft. Thank you so much for making it available on my platform of choice!
inr? :-) husband watched over my shoulder for a bit now he's playing too.. ... we tried like heck to get a lan working but I think our fireball was interfering. shame really, i could use his help on my forts. after days of playing this I still jump and take fright when a zee sneaks up on me or even just that damned combat music they rank up when you get close in stealth to a zee. lolol

good times

I feel the same way about the whole Minecraft ordeal. Glad to see a game pull me away from it for longer than a day.

lol I did run outside and waited looking to see if I could see a helicopter, then I realized it was just another random sound like the gunshots or hearing someone get mauled by zombies I assume. Seems like when this happens, shortly after I get a mob of zombies passing my way so I get out of the area. I guess it's possible when the people barricaded someone was already infected and maybe it was them screaming? I like these houses though because usually there is good stuff inside. Once you are able to clear the zombies of course.

Either way I love this game, hope you're able to get your LAN set up, it's super fun going on loot runs with a team. Might I ask how you attempted to connect?

Usually what I do is...
First- the host needs to go into the command prompt(otherwise known as DOS) and type in ipconfig

Second- The client or person joining needs to use the IPv4 Address to connect to. It should be something like 192.168.1.101. If you have multiple devices on the same network, the last number may change. For examples 101 or 102 or 103 etc. The person joining needs to put that entire line in to connect to inside the game. As mentioned about multiple devices, this number may change from time to time, one day you might be at 101, the next you might be at 102. If the client cannot connect, just start at the first step and make sure the host address hasn't changed.

Third- Once that is set up, the host can open the server. Of course the host can just use the 127.0.0.1 or local host when joining the server. But both people should be able to connect with no problems. Usually if you have interference from the firewall, you will get a pop up window asking if you want to allow access. You will most likely have different spawning locations though so you will need to find each other first. And until you learn how to use the server settings, you will have quite a bit of zombies starting off, even before you really have much gear. I've even had them already breaking into my house when I spawned, no time to grab anything but a kitchen knife or frying pan and run. I think I even had one already inside the house when I spawned one time, but in a different room with the door shut.
