Linux users have been calling for a native galaxy for a long time now. GOG has made it clear they have no intention of ever making this happen.
For Zomboid, we are now 3 updates behind the curve, while Steam customers can get any beta branch in a few clicks, GOG customers cant.
With the BS that Humble pulled, Steam and Itch are now the only Linux friendly distribution platforms out there. GOG has a clear opening here to step up and at the minimum allow beta downloads from the offline installers, but they wont.
And now we are being further punished for going DRM free by getting locked out of rented servers?
If this is actually going to get fixed and not just a bandaid slapped on it, Indie Stone is the one thats going to have to do it. Work an updater into the game itself, host beta patches on their site to bring the current GOG release up to IWBUMS, or just offer Steam keys to those who bought on GOG. Otherwise we are going to be right back here every update.
