I just opened the game up and I can no longer continue my game and I don't see any options to see current saves or anything. Did I really lose my save game? I see some threads about how you only have so many lives in this game if you ran out of lives to do have to start the whole game over?
I just noticed "Standard" difficulty says you lose your progress if you lose your lives. I must have started this save months ago and have played it occasionally since you're telling me this is an intended feature? Very strange for a longish linear game. At least most rouge likes have meta progression.

Nope, I've lost mine too. I hadn't played for about 2-3 months and now it's just gone. I think the save location was moved from the registry to a more sensible location in the game's folder, but my save doesn't appear to have moved over.

Is there any way to recover this save file?

I have the same problem. Wanted to go back to the game after a few months, but to my surprise, there is no continue button. I am sure I played on the middle difficulty and I definitely haven't run out of lives. I think I was somewhere in episode 4. I read in other threads that game save mechanism has changes to store game progress in file instead of system registry. If that's the case update should have moved existing progress from the old system to new one which it obviously haven't. When I looked in the registry, the SavedGame_* entry has it's value still on 1 which I guess means I haven't lost my lives and normally should have been able to continue my game.
Can developers reply to this? Is there a way to restore game progress from registry values? The game is fun, but I am in no mood to go through all the levels again.

Resurrecting a dead post i played the game yesterday and it was fine my save still worked, come to load it today and its gone or just not loading as i can only start a new game. never a fix to this???
This is the only post i could find on the issue and as it has received no response i have emailed the developer''s support email address to see if we can get any help. no point trying to play the game if its going to just wipe my save.

Similar problem here. I started a new game and played for a couple hours when my computer crashed. When I launched the game again all my progress was lost. Since this is an old post, I'm keeping fingers crossed that someone has been able to get in touch with the developers.

This game is really a blast to play, but I agree there is little point playing if saves and progress are lost this easily.
