Game starts fine, singleplayer works.
But when I try to start multiplayer the background freezes for a second,
then it just continues, but I stay at the main menu.
I can't get the multiplayer to start.
(I'm on Windows 10, tried in compatibility mode WinXP & Win7 already.)

Please help!

Exact same here.

Seemed to be fixed my enabling 'directplay'.

Go to 'Programs and features' in control panel, 'Turn windows features on or off' and enable it under the 'legacy components'
