This looks like the game is version 0.8.9 ( updated September 2018). However, the latest version of the game (on steam) was updated in December 2018 and contained many quality of life improvments. Is there any way to get the latest version of the game on GOG?

Good question. I have this game in my bucket and i wonder buy or not buy this game. If this produkt havent any support from dev buy this have non sense.

Got it anyway to test since it was cheap, can confirm this is updated. The Sep 28 update: "1. New playable character:

Soha, the Blade of Sorrow, including skills and passives."

I loaded it up and Soha is playable making it an easy check. The game is very poorly optimized though so unsure how much I'll be playing it.

Edit: Was looking at wrong patch, that was 2018 release notes. Latest patch is Aug 9, 2019 with: "New available character: Maëlis with skills + passive skill tree and passive information during the Maëlis Turn begin phase."

Can confirm that Maelis is in GoG version.

Thanks for further confirming this. When I've reported this to the 2nd citizen treatment thread, I got some replies telling me that the game was updated, and you just further confirmed it, thanks.

If only there was an easy way to check game's version before purchasing them, sigh.

Where are you seeing that? If I click "UPDATE 6" in Galaxy, the most recent patch notes I see are from Septermber 2018.

I checked what the update added and then checked to see if that content was ingame. Maelis is ingame therefor it is updated.

I'd say I didn't enjoy the game all that much and I got it for under 2$. Its also really laggy. I can run decent games, can run new games without lag. I don't see how these graphics warranted lag. If it looks fun to you I would pick it up on Steam on sale because you can refund it there if you don't enjoy it.
