I am having difficulties with the sound in the game. The sounds seem delayed and some seem to be chopped off, so I miss a lot of the effects. The flippers don't sync with their clacking sounds. Also the music has a tendency to jump.. I lowered my sound acceleration to basic to see if that would help, it didn't. I have XP. Any ideas?

if you go to the directory where you installed it, search for a file that ends on .conf
Probably called dosboxtimeshock.conf
Open it and search for prebuffer=10
change that to something higher/lower and try again.
There are more parameters around that influence it. blocksize and samplerate
Try changing them to something that works for you.
