So i am new to this game and i have no idea how is happening that, by expanding a room sometimes it creates either the door as subsector or even a small wall part around it. I know about foundations and corridors, but here is an example that making me scratching my head. So i expanded my cafeteria only to find out that only the right door is part of the 'whole' building.

The top side and the left side are considered to be different sectors.

Same goes for my Dormitory.

I have demolished walls, foundations, removed assigning of rooms and re-applied all those to no difference, so what gives?

So how does that happening? What triggers it?

Thanks in advance.

I guess that it is a bug or programming "quirk".

Normally it does not matter much to which sector the walls belong - only the floor matters. With doors - it may possibly have some meaning, but the difference may be tiny: for example your prisoners will or won't be able to clean the floor under the door, or maybe open the door themselves.

Only one case when it matters may be "Shop" - the counter may need to be in a wall that belongs to the shop sector. The wiki suggests that you extend the shop area to cover one tile in front of the wall, and put the counter in the non-dividing wall.

But the whole thingy is a little frustrating. :)
