Hello!

Anytime I try to run PoP: Warrior Within, the opening hardware check reports an issue with an "Unknown AMD processor", and won't let me launch the game... I have a Ryzen 3700x, so I get that the CPU is much newer than the game. It's just that I can't bypass this opening HW check, since running the game from pop2.exe leaves me with an error saying"Run the game through PrinceOfPersia.exe, which is this opening check.

Any ideas?
Hi, emperorsfist.

As far as I know, there are a few ways to ignore the HW launcher without relying on piracy.

Try this:

1) Go to the folder where you installed the game
2) Right click on PrinceOfPersia.exe, then click Properties/Compatibility tab
3) Check Run this program in compatibility mode for: Windows XP (Service Pack 2) and Run this program as an administrator
4) Click Apply and OK
5) Run the game

If the above doesn't work, then try this another workaround:

1) Open the game as usual (the launcher should prompt with the grayed out button, but leave it open)
2) With the launcher still open, go to the WW folder and open pop2.exe

As a last resort, assuming nothing works, you'll need to crack the .exe and overwrite, IIRC, amir.dll.

Method no. 1 sadly didn't work, but the workaround has! Thank you for this!

The Two Thrones has a better fix for it in the uncensored patch (that restores decapitation, blood on human enemies etc.). Does Warrior Within have something similar? The only one I could find was a dodgy looking download on a blogspot post that required a social media account to use, and the blogspot page itself had malicious popups that chrome blocked for me second time.

Needless to say I didn't use that one.

You helped me so much. Thank you so much. I have been searching for this for 6 months and finally because of you I can finally play it with Intel Core i5 10400F 2.90 GHz. Thanks to you. Love from India.
Hi good ppl, I have a device with the aspect ratio of 16:10 which is not supported in popWW ,so naturally i downloaded a wide screen fix mod and now its showing this crash report:" Access Violation: Attempt to write data at 0x00000404
Error occured in thread: 0x0000445C (17500)"
Is there any way to bypass this?
