1) what are the available resolution options. in particular does it support 640x480 & 800x600?
2) how scalable do the graphic options look?
(ie. does it have loads of sliders for everything from texture quality to the amount of geometry used on the princes boots. or does it just have bloom on/off.)
the games going to be used on a netbook with a 1.6ghz atom and gma950, hence the questions.

1) Yes, those resolutions are available (640x480 is the lowest)
2) They are fairly scalable, but they tend more towards options rather than sliders. In fact, here - I've attached screenshots of the options screens.
As far as I can tell, some level of bloom is active even with everything set to low. This may or may not be a problem; my advice would be to download a demo of the game. It's really not a very demanding product, however (despite its beauty) - I ran it maxed shortly after its release in 2003, and I did not have a cutting-edge computer at all. I think you'll probably be fine. But yeah, demo.

thankyou VERY much for going to the trouble of creating screenshots for me.
appreciated.
as you suggest i think the best way is to check out a demo first although i dont really see much trouble for my netbook to run it.
bumping for an update :
cannot get this game working on my netbook.
tried 3danalyze and forcing hw tnl + pixel shader detection but it refuses to work. sucks.
so this is a heads up for others thinking of getting it for their netbooks.

Well no, it depends on the specification of their netbooks. It works fine on mine. The gma950 is a second generation graphic processor and is rather bad for games. From wikipedia: The GMA 950 shares the same architectural weakness as the GMA 900: no hardware geometry processing. Neither basic (DX7) hardware transform and lighting,[2] nor more advanced vertex shaders (DX8 and later) are handled in the GMA hardware.
Before you purchase any video game for your PC, you need to check if your hardware is up for the challenge. Checking the demo would have been a good option.

what netbook have you got?
only ones i can think of which have something different from a gma950 are the nc20 and asus n10j.

I don't suppose you'll get this CD key here. The problem with digital distribution is that the services are not compatible with each other. You may try writing to the support, but I would not expect you getting the key. GOG version does not even require CD-Key, so it probably does not even have one.

i kinda figured taht since the farcry key didnt work. thanks anyway though
I do not know why people keep coming to GOG asking for CD keys for steam. How whole point of GOG is DRM free gaming.

Steam is a form of DRM (Shock Horror) steam works anyone?.

Here you will get a self contained setup file.
