Well, it looks like, the transation works fine for windows. But the languagepatch never went into the linuxversion. Also, its not longer possible, to manually patch the linux version, since the required windowsversion/patchfile is now missing.

I tried to run the game with Wine (5.9 staging on 19.xx Kubuntu), sadly its not working proper. I have massive flickering on the left side of the screen and the mouse is stuttering.

Telling, by the age of this thread, i think there will never be a proper, patched linux version for this. Also sad, this informations is NOT listed on the shoppage of this game. I bought this game, cause it said "german text". Well...

Im sorry, if im maybe sound a bit salty, but im very disapointed here :-(.

You're totally right to be disappointed. But just so you understand the predicament we are in:

(1) WEG forbade us to upload directly to GOG after we previously patched the game. They insist on complete control over what goes up, I guess for quality control reasons.
(2) The Linux build on GOG is not a build we created; I'm not even sure what it is. We have made a native Linux build (with languages), but we can't persuade WEG to upload it to GOG or Steam because they want to playtest it internally but don't have time/resources to do so. GOG's Linux build uses some kind of front-end, I think.
(3) It took months to get WEG to upload our translated (Windows) build to GOG. Our understanding was that GOG would work whatever magic it did to create a translated (Linux) build. Since we didn't hear otherwise, we stopped hosting the translation files since we didn't want to host them unnecessarily or potentially confuse people who had already-patched versions of the game. Moreover, the patch was significantly out of date, since it applied to a much older version of the game -- we changed the whole engine to create the new build with integrated languages and applied a ton of bug fixes.

It may be possible to dig up the old Linux translation and send it to you, and I'm happy to try. You can shoot me an email at mark@wormwoodstudios.com. But we are in a fairly impossible situation trying to support a build of the game that we didn't make, that's in a different version of the engine from the build we did make and are currently supporting, when we can't upload to GOG or do anything to modify the game's frontpage.

My view is -- anything for the player. So I'd like to sort this out. But it may be beyond my power.
OK! Now im impressed!
Going to write you NOW an E-Mail ;-). Thanks for you help!

WORKAROUND:
1) Download current Windows version: setup_primordia_language_update_(33109).exe

2-A) Extract installer with innoextract (if you have a new enough version. Inno Setup version is 5.6.2) innoextract -v lists supported installers.

or

2-B) Install with Wine. Move folder to wherever you like afterwards.

3) Download AGS for Linux, ags_3.5.0.24_linux.tar.gz.

4) Extract ags_3.5.0.24_linux.tar.gz

5) Start via ~/.local/bin/ags_3.5.0.24_linux/data/ags64 ~/games/primordia/Primordia.exe
Adjust paths as needed if you did not extract ags_3.5.0.24_linux.tar.gz to ~/.local/bin/ags_3.5.0.24_linux/ and the game is not installed at ~/games/primordia/.
This also assumes you have all the needed dependencies to run a 3.5.x build of ags already installed.

I tried to build ags on mac catalina follow the steps of https://github.com/adventuregamestudio/ags/tree/master/OSX. The game hang at the beginning(see the screenshot). I can only press ESC to skip this scene. I play it for a while and it works fine except the hang.

AGS supports Linux and macOS, port this game shouldn't take much effort. I don't understand why the publisher won't do anything about it.

It's a small company that has to consider return-on-cost and quality assurance issues. To me, it's a no-brainer to want to share the game with more people, but from their standpoint, it's a game that doesn't generate much money any more, porting it to a system that has a comparably small base, having to quality-check and support the build, etc.

I dunno. I'm not in this as a business; for me it's a hobby, so I'd do it in a second. :)

Just found your new game Strangeland. I notice the publisher is yourself on the steam page. I wonder will this game supports linux and mac? Will it be released at GOG?

Alas, the publisher is now WEG. :D

We will try to get Linux and Mac native builds though!

(And, yes, definitely a GOG release.)
