SOLVED!
I installed Nglide 2.x and now the texture detail is there. Powerslide comes with the 1.0 version of Nglide included :-) (I can't edit the title)

I've recently been playing this again and noticed that the highres texture resolution is not rendered. I've checked the screenshots from Stixsmaster of the Reshade mod, and these seem to have high resolution textures. I tried that mod but it makes no difference in texture detail. Tried it on laptop and PC both running Win10.
When in software mode the high-res textures are loaded.
Note the stripes on the road in software vs. hardware rendering and also the screenshot from Stixsmaster.
Anybody know if there's a fix for this? I've tried all the various options nGlide and Config settings. Doubt anyone reads this at all but it's always worth a try :-)
Ideally only the high-res textures load at any distance since hardware these days can handle that with ease ;-)
