I have a really weird issue with the first Postal. If I'm trying to use the joystick or keyboard, I can usually only turn left only one step - I can't hold the key/controller down to spin around. Strafing works correctly, as does turning right. He turns around just fine with the mouse, but strafing doesn't work right with the mouse.

Try this hotfix for the keyboard left turn glitch and let us know in case it didn't work for you (preferably via the Support form):
http://files.gog.com/support/PostalRemap.zip
All you need to do is extract the .exe file and open it. It should find Postal's executable and open it afterwards.
Edit: A Support article regarding this problem has been added to our knowledge base.

Thanks GOG!
The patch works almost flawless but sometimes I'm experiencing weird slow downs or speed ups in both directions. :(
I see that this is some kind of loader, couldn't you release patched executable file?

for me it's easier to download small exe that re-download the game, and maybe for other people too, so I think it's better if they will leave it this way

I didn't want them to make a whole new release but just to release patched executable than a loader.

I dont know if you realise this but to make an exe file you need the source code witch GOG probably doest have. RWS officially said that there is no fix for this problem so basically they don't give a f***k. I am happy with this solution,I'm even surprised that they even bother to look at this problem because they could just forward the RWS official statement and that it. GOG cant do miracles with games because they don't have source code, so they cant make patches for games. Getting a code from developer is a whole new level of crap to deal with, it is almost impossible. I'm working in a game industry related company so I know something about this.

There is no need to have source code to make a patched executable only a reversed engineering skill is needed.
Anyway if you are saying that you can't make patched executable without source code how are all cracks made? You won't tell me that crackers have source code to make a cracked executable...
kuebk -> seriously do You have any idea how much work it takes to get the source code from already compiled file ? And even then there is no guarantee of finding the solution, especially if the RWS said that there isn't any.
Sure they could invest a mountain of man hours in doing this and screw anything else for a week to satisfy You and maybe one other person. Or they could just make a tiny launcher to fix the problem good enough for majority and move along to other titles.
I want GOG to always chose the second option. I really wouldn't want to see a pause in game realises because slit imperfection in solution for Postal controls issue that maybe two people care about.

You can't get source code from compiled files, you can only disassemble them. Anyway I prefer patched executables than loaders. :P
And probably end of OT.
Nice! It works! The left turn is slightly choppier than the right turn, but it still works decent. Occasionally it tends to make the character do a quick 180 degree spin, but besides that, it works fine. Much love to you GoG.
