Feels like a rebuttal to Hatred. Will GOG get it though?

Here is hoping GOG gets it as well.

Keep in mind we are still waiting for the Paradise Lost DLC to Postal 2, even though they also said we would get that one on gog, so we may have to wait for Redux as well.

I gave up on Paradise Lost some time ago. They had enough time to get it to GOG. But after almost 1 year of waiting my interest for this game is gone.

Release date is now May 20th on Steam. As for here, we'll probably get it sometime in 2017 if we're lucky.

Yeah, I've given up on Paradise Lost pretty much completely at this point, and since this game has the same treatment I've pretty much given up on it and RWS as well.

I'm sure it'll show up at some point in a bundle I want something else in, or I'll win it in a steamgifts giveaway or some similar thing, but my enthusiasm has waned significantly. At this point a release of either game isn't even going to excite me.

I get the impression that they're well intentioned folks but either poorly mismanaged, or poor planning or execution, or perhaps poor financial resource management or something. Either way it's sad as they do make fun games that are rather unique. Maybe Gary Coleman's death hit them hard and they turned to booze to sooth the pain or something.

I just found out about Hatred, and Postal Redux.

I'm probably going to buy Postal Redux on Steam when it goes on sale. I'm a huge fan of Postal 1. I don't like Postal 2 that much, and I really dislike Postal 3.

Postal Redux is DRM free on Steam. I just wanted to chime in, just in case someone is like me, they like DRM free games, and might not want to wait.

Went and asked on their Steam forum if Paradise Lost was coming to GOG. No response at all from the devs. Kinda dissapointing to be honest, either they're incredibly busy or are actively ignoring the GOG Postal fanbase. Sincerely hope it's the former, RWS seem to be nice people.

I doubt they'll respond, because if they come here and look at what they responded before they'll see how they haven't held up their end of the bargain and people aren't too impressed. Saying anything more at this point isn't going to help the situation as nobody is going to believe a word they say now no matter how nice they seem to be.

People can be really nice and also irresponsible. They can promise the world, mean to deliver the world, and be incapable or incompetant of actually doing so. I think they originally said what they really meant to do, and that they had good intentions, but if you mean to do something and have good intentions to do it and say you're going to do it, then you have to do it and do it in a reasonable time frame or else people tend to think you're full of shit and lose faith in you as well as losing trust for anything you say.

That's where I'm at at this point, I think they meant well but overstated they were going to do things that they were not capable of following through in the end. I think they're running on a shoestring budget and that every game sale ensures they have another meal to eat tomorrow and that their entire attention is spent solely on what will bring in the most money tomorrow. I think GOG sales of Postal games do not even buy milk for their kids so instead of following through on the promises they made to the GOG fan base here, they redirect every single minute of their activity towards future projects/products that will generate revenue on Steam to have another meal to eat.

If they suddenly dropped a new game down on Steam and it raked in several million dollars enough to clear their debts or whatever and they had some breathing room, then perhaps they would finally come through on promises they made here. Sadly, I don't think that's going to happen, and I don't think we'll hear any more words from them in the GOG forums either because they lied to us, and they know they lied to us.

Coming back here and making more promises or saying anything at this point would probably be embarrassing for them knowing that they lied to us. They know they'd probably get some flak from it too so what would they have to gain from coming here and saying anything? Probably nothing.

If I would have known for sure that they were never going to release any more of their products here, such as them straight out saying they weren't going to do it, or if they even said "we're not sure at this point but it's possible" that would have been much more honest, and I'd feel quite differently about them right now. If I didn't want to wait it out, I would have then already bought the games on Steam as I'm not Steam averse. But they said it would come here and I waited and waited like many of you going on their word, and now their words turned out to be lip service that aren't going to materialize into reality. So I don't trust them now, and I wont buy their games on Steam either because who knows what other kinds of promises they've broken to the rest of the fan base as well.

I dunno about everyone else but I had a good vibe from RWS and thought they were a different kind of company, not just because of their games, but the way they handled themselves publicly and their seeming fondness for breaking out of the mold, out of the normalcy in gaming. In the end it turns out they're just another company milking as much money out of their products as possible where they see dollar signs show up, and ignoring anything else out there. Who knows, maybe they'll join forces with Sean Murray and Postal 4 will take place on 18 quintillion planets or something.

At least Postal 1 and 2 are on GOG, from back when RWS wasn't in the state they are now. They're like untouched classics, at least. I'm not sure how RWS got to this stage. Hell, back in 2011 when Postal 3 came out and all the disc copies were broken, they immeadiately apologised and said that owners of the broken discs could have a free Steam Key for the game. That was proper customer service from them. I hope they are still great guys, and they simply haven't put Paradise Lost on GOG yet due to being busy with Redux, or something of that caliber.

Ironic that their game series is called POSTAL, when they haven't exactly DELIVERED. (Terrible joke I know)
But seriously, I don't doubt that they're good people, but their focus seems far too heavy on Steam.

It would be different if they didn't give their word, but once you give your word on something people are going to expect that you'll come good on it. It's ok for them to have a focus, but then they shouldn't promise things that they can't or aren't going to focus on delivering. Promising something means that you're making it a focus in order to ensure you can deliver it, but that's just not happening.

I have a good feeling if we were to meet any of them in real life they're probably cool people too, but that doesn't make up for poor lack of business execution on promises they've made.

The sad thing is that even if they ever did manage to bring Paradise Lost here at this point, GOG might not even accept it because it's been on sale for far less than a dollar on Steam or elsewhere to date. If they did accept it, GOG would likely set the price at $9.99 and 6 monts later it might go on sale for $4.99 and eventually another 6 months later it'd go on sale for $2.49 perpetually and never drop any lower all while it's been on Steam for $0.89 or whatever, so there would be no incentive to buy it here and feel the love.

About the only way I'm likely to ever have it would be if they included it for free in a future update for Postal 2 to all existing owners of the game or something like that. I'm not expecting that nor feel entitled to it, but I have no plans on buying it at this point.

Just had this conversation with one of the RWS guys:

"RWS: We can't confirm or deny anything just yet, so unfortunately I can't give any specifics.
But we're working on it.

Me:Oh good, it'll happen at some point in the future then?

RWS: Like I said, I can't confirm that. All I can say is that we'd like to make it happen, but there's no guarantee right now."

So I guess maybe it's happening...maybe? I suppose don't get your hopes up and such.

Just a restatement of what they've already said here before with a bit of a "no guarantee" backpedal added in. Nothing to get excited about really, nothing has changed except 12-18 month passage of time or so since they said it before.
