da2pacolypse: How can you bad mouth the greatest game ever created? Shame on you sir, SHAME ON YOU.

Delekhan: Agreed. On a more serious note why do people bitch about this but not games like Kingpin, Duke Nukem or the Fallout series?

Aliens have feelings too. But that mean old Duke Nukem blows them up with a rocket launcher while saying "Suck it down!"
you know, I love killing real people.
in video games.

meow: Get a grip on what exactly? I couldn't care less what Somalia's government does. If I can't do anything about it, I'm not going to cry about it.
Theft is a little closer to home. And as I said, I've played both series so I'm hardly being righteous. I just think games that sensationalize criminal activities are harmful to the people that play them.
I just can't see how Postal could possibly be any more offensive than anything else is all.
I'll stop voicing my opinion when I'm dead or banned, and I doubt anything I've said would get me banned so...

I know this is old, but I just had to throw in my two cents. Almost every game ever made is a murder simulator. Practically every single one. Just because you can play Call of Duty 4, with war idealised, just because all the horror of death and killing is cloaked in glory and honour doesn't mean that it isn't a murder simulator. It glorifies making hundreds of widows and orphans. Red Alert 3 even makes light of the Soviet Union! It makes jokes at the expense of 20 million real dead people! You don't find that disgustingly disrespectful of the families of the people who were killed? Of course not.
You say you don't like to see theft glorified in GTA because it's a large problem in real life, but you don't mind slaughtering countless thousands in whatever other games you play?
At least Postal is honest. It's just black comedy. It's supposed to offend, precisely because far too many people or so easily offended by things that really don't matter. They think it is their right not to be offended, as someone said before they didn't want it distributed. They're the same kind of fools who think it's easier to whinge loud enough to get things banned from television than it is to change the channel.

psamathos: I'm glad that GoG has chosen to distribute this title. It shows that they aren't afraid to distribute a classic game just because it might offend a few uptight gamers. If you believe the only way to win Postal is to not play at all, then please, do so. But realize that some people--myself included--actually like to be disturbed. Viewing the thoughts of an aberrant mind can be a fascinating way of understanding both yourself and the dark side of humanity.

Fatal Frame, Fear, Silent Hill, Sanitarium *on gog*, are prime examples of this, as well as The Witcher and Dragon Age.
Wow, you all got trolled! The OP posted ONE time (to start this topic) and it spawns 3 pages! I was expecting a topic about the technical problems in getting Postal 2 to run, but I get the complete opposite...
If you find it offensive then don't play it. GOG did nothing wrong in posting this game. Postal is a cult classic and many people enjoy it. Censorship is idiotic and all art forms and media should be free to express anything. No it's not a deep game and yes it is juvenile, but some people enjoy just doing stupid crap to kill some time or take out their frustrations and they should be free to and shouldn't be judged on it. IF you play any FPS games you're a hypocrite because they're violent too and many like Call of Duty are actually pretty realistic while this is complete absurd fantasy.
