Does GOG support answer questions? I tried them last week but never got a response.

Yes, I am having the same problem too. This is odd because it was running before but maybe that was my old laptop sorry I just dont remember.

It sounds like an incomplete install to me.
You could try uninstalling the game and installing it again, and, if that doesn't work, redownloading the installer.
Same thing here, uninstalled and reinstalled, set DEP, running in XP sp2 compatability mode (vista user) and still getting the same error.

Debugging app hangs if you try to use it too, a debugger with bugs...classic :-)

Anymore ideas greatly welcome.
According to a fansite, it's an installation error and that you might have to disable antivirus software and anything else that might interfere with the installation process. I'm in the process of trying that right now, but you might try that.

EDIT: That didn't work for me on XP, but disabling WEP did.

Disabling wep did for me also...now if i can just get the sea texture to work....
