EDIT: For anyone reading this: The gog.com version works with Vista/Windows 7 the retail version does NOT. There is no solution which will fix your retail version in this topic, a google search may help, but it's unlikely.
Hey
I've got the retail version of this game, but it doesn't work on Vista. I get an instant bluescreen when starting it and the developers have done an excellent job at completely ignoring the issue.
Does the gog version have the same problem?

The games sale page claims it works on vista. Are you sure its vista stopping you from playing the copy you already bought though and not another problem?
I saw several posts on forums claiming the same thing. I also tried it on another computer and on a Windows 7 Beta, all with the same result.
Opening it as Administrator or in legacy mode doesn't help either.
Whats legacy mode?
Edit: ok its the same as compatibilty mode. I would suggest updating drivers for your video and sound card if they are not already up to date.
Edit2: is the blue screen error your getting SSHDRV76.sys PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA by anychance?
If it is I think that has something to do with the DRM cd check the game has. If thats the case then the drm free Gog version should actually work without any problems.

I'm not sure which bsod I got and I'm not going to check as I bought the gog version and it is working perfectly on both Vista and Windows 7.
Thanks for your help. It was probably the drm doing it, I can't believe how much **** I have gone through during my life because of it...
I try to avoid it but I know what you mean, ive lost a DVD/CD drive to what I think was starforce. They should be forced to put what drm they use and exactly what it does in large writing on game boxes.
