So where do you save your game? Is this something you can do "in game", or do you have to save during the "world select" interface. Appreciation in advance.

In Populous 1, hit the command icon for "Game Setup" on the lower right to get a menu. It's the little globe (see screenshots)
In Populous 2 it's also a little globe icon on the right, that opens a menu with the save option (see screenshots).
In Populous: The Beginning, the Esc key opens a menu where you can choose "Save Game" and the F9 key serves as a Quick Save whereas F8 is the corresponding Quick Load. You might want to download the reference card GOG offers for Populous: The Beginning to get an overview over all hotkeys for a better gaming experience.
