I can't say I have played too many DOSBox games from GOG, so I am obviously missing something.

I am trying to get Populous to play in window mode at 640x480. The first time I load the game after a fresh install, it plays fullscreen, which of course looks like ass at 2560x1440.

Loading the graphic mode setup .exe does 2 things:

1. It doesn't appear to save/apply any of the settings and gives an error "game not installed"; and
2. When I load Populous again, it plays in CGA with PC speaker sound. No amount of editing the .conf files seems to fix this.

Any ideas? I just want to play it window without being mega tiny :)

Solved, as per Farfrael's post:

You need to run the setup from the Start Menu, not from within the directory itself in Windows explorer.
