My PQ1 game locks up after/during the drug bust in Bert's park. I looked online and found patches for exactly this problem, but applying them at no effect and, frankly, it appears the files downloaded from GOG are the patched files already.

I also tried messing with speed settings in the DOSBOX config since the Internet suggests it's a timing problem. I haven't hit on anything that works yet.

Anyone else solved this problem?

You can bypass DOSBox all together and run Police Quest natively in Windows through ScummVM. That's what I use and I've never had a burp with it.
