So, nothing is working. First it wouldn't launch, a DLL missing, which I found and put in the folder with the game. It launches, but a get this weird screen pictured. I have no idea what to do when it comes up. Anything I hit makes a blank gray window come up.

I have no idea what to do. I've tried the typical stuff, run as admin, compatibility, etc. Noting worked.

I had the same problem and solved it.

Here is a thread I started on it, this should help you. The links at the bottom will let you reinstall Driect X and installl a Direct X runtime libraty for legacy games. That did the trick for me.
