I have problems with Time Attack mode.

The game freezes for some seconds, then restarts, then freezes, then restarts...

Like my hard drive can't keep the pace with the game track.

I dont' have any other problem with champ racing: the game is smooth.

My Pc is
vista business 32 bit
AMD phenom K2 dual core 3.2ghz
nvida gts450
4 gb ram
SATA3 Hard drive

same problem with my laptop.
No issues in champ racing, freezing in time attack
laptop acer aspire
vista home premium 32
integrated vRam
3 GB ram
SATA2 Hard disc

Any idea?

thanks

Not really.

But you might try to disable the Music (rename Track02.mp3) and/or the Sound FX (press Ctrl-M during race) to test for music/sound related problems.

And you might try to used alternate Glide wrappers (rename GOG's glide2x.dll, use PodHacks and try nGlide or dgVoodoo) to test rendering issues.

Does it happen seldom/sporadically or always/regularly (or only in the first lap)?

note: I've seen very seldom freezes (one or two seconds) while running in POD in VMware or Wine but no general performance problems - but it's a high-end notebook...

Always, on any track I tried.

I can't get to the 2nd lap... it's impossible to race more than 2 corners :p

Thanks for your suggestions. I'll giv a try and let you know.
Please make sure that _no_ compatibility mode is enabled for the PODX3Dfx.exe.
This is known to result in performance problems with GOG's POD Gold release.
