It's not really annoying anyway...

Is anybody else experiencing games crashes whenever trying to play on users made tracks ? Tracks like Bender, Antipod, Enneade, Forget It makes the game crash on my setup.

GS2 patch helped to improve the general feeling but I think it's still far from the original behavior. I can't explain but it all feels "unresponsive" and laggy.
Well, many things have changed since the release of POD and some old misunderstandings made it also into the engine (DirectInput isn't recommended for keyboard and mouse events - but most of the developers didn't know this and used it in their games).

Did you try to race with a wheel (and is it also laggy)?

I have a rough idea how this could be fixed (capturing keyboard window messages, manually trigger the event that POD is waiting for, and hook 'n simulate the DirectInput interface). But it will take some time to setup a prototype for testing...

ps: About the crashes with fan-made tracks/cars... Yes, some mods don't like each other. And you cannot install too many of them without getting in trouble. POD has fixed-sized static lists and too many items result in unexpected memory overrides (the GS2_DX5 version has the largest lists - that's why you need it to play the Arcade track).

I play with my old Wingman Formula Yellow steering wheel ! The one I've always used for Pod driving :)

I'm currently trying to get near old records, on Canyon for example I scored 57.6x laps by the past. With this setup I can't see how I will be able to get lower than 58-57.9x.
The lag in the input don't allow enough accuracy when you have to quickly put the wheel straight when riding on small bumps while steering. So the car always end up sliding too much.

ps : about the crashes on custom tracks, it was doing it with Gog default version, still do it with the Dx5 GS2 patch.
