It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

I'm not really happy with the GOG forum. You can't post links, the formatting features suck, and you don't even have sub forums. Of course it's great to find some new Pod members easily, but it just sucks if you want to find specific information or want to organize stuff.

I'm not sure if it is a good idea to create yet another pod forum; but afaik, there are not many working Pod forums anymore, and this is the only more or less active one, and then it sucks as I previously mentioned.

EDIT: I created one by now. Find it at
pod.syroot.com

The forum could also have some sections acting like a wiki; for example, a sub forum with (locked) topics describing tracks. I owned a more or less content filled Pod wiki back in the years, but someone offered to host it on a better server (as I had to use a free host back then), and then locked me out rights-wise, and didn't combat spam, so it went down the drain.

If anyone would be interested about a new forum (probably gonna be based on MyBB), I'd create it on my server at pod.syroot.com.

What do you say?

yea there arent many forums left, maybe because not many ppl are playing. i think the largest one is still murmuran.net/pod but mostly inactive. i used to pop by Bandies racing board when it was still active to see if anyone's still playing back then.

i'm not aware of gog forum restrictions since i barely use gog.com but it seems to be more active than the forum above mainly because people buy the game and come to the forums for help/discussion i think.

some time ago, i've also made a subreddit for pod at /r/podplanetofdeath, which is still fairly empty since i'm new to this stuff on reddit so i havent shared it with anyone, it's possible to write a wiki there too though i'm not experienced with that yet. if you use reddit often it is convenient to post stuff there. i can add you as a mod if you're interested. but of course a forum will look nicer with stickys and images/sub forum.

i feel it's a shame that POD isnt played by more people, i wished it would get a Remastered HD edition with widescreen support, updated textures and sounds, with all these tracks/cars and even a working multiplayer mode. i would love to buy that. look at GRIP, it is a remake of the old RollCage, looks pretty awesome as well, but I still love POD more. it would be nice to talk about some similar racing games as well like Distance (all early access titles on Steam) but yeah I've never found anything quite like good ol' POD.

I think a widescreen hack would be really possible. I hacked a little bit with the resolution code, and got a very buggy 1920x1080 interface (non-stretched times etc.), but it didn't work well enough for recording a video of it, so I didn't continue looking into that...

The reddit is nice, if you want, I can link it in my forum... I just basically created one. If you wanna check it out, the link is

pod.syroot.com

Of course, there's basically nothing on it yet... let's see if people get interested. At first, I have to add some stuff to show off how I imagined that wiki, but that can take some while.
I think creating our own forum is a great idea!

Though it's sad that there is a problem with the Murmuran forum - it would be cool to be with all the old pros. :( Let's hope they come to the new forum.
