Hi fellows,

I can't get POD to run on this older laptop with Win 7 64-bit.
At first, it had a 'grsstwinopen' error, then I found a thread talking about nglide and podhacks. After that the error went away, but the game still does not run (no more error message though).

I'm a bit disappointed :(

Can anyone help me ?
Thanks
More system/hardware information might help.

You're using PodHacks 3.9a (and deleted the podhacks.dll when downgrading)?
You renamed the glide2x.dll in the POD directory?
You had a look in the Windows TaskManager and there is no PODX3Dfx.exe "dead" process hanging in the background (and blocking new starts)?

Hi Nicode, thanks for answering.

I did all that after looking through the forums here, before I posted. I just checked the podhacks version, and it is 3.9a.

This laptop is Core 2 Duo 1.3Ghz w/ intel 945 Express graphics.

The GMA 950 shares the same architectural weakness as the GMA 900: no hardware geometry processing. Neither basic hardware transform and lighting, nor more advanced vertex shaders are handled in the GMA hardware, these are only accessible via Software Rendering.
I think you need a better GFX (with full DirectX 9.0c hardware support).

Or you might try dgVoodoo (at least the older versions support DirectDraw and DirectX 7).
thanks :) I ill dig up my "newer" desktop that has a somewhat better graphics card!
