I remember playing this game a long time ago. Specifically playing with another person on a single keyboard in split-screen.

But no matter what I do now, I can't get the game to accept the keyboard as control device for 2 players at once. The moment keyboard is assigned to a player, it's gone from the pool and the game demands a different control device for the other player.

Anyone know of a way to force 2 players on one keyboard? I don't remember having any issues with it back in the day, but no matter what I try or which version of the game, I can't find a way to force players on one keyboard. Could it be that the non-Gold version allowed this but Gold does not?
