I started the game with high INT, CHR, and WIS, and low STR, DEX, and CON. I decided to double specialize as a fighter to get the bonuses that come with that specialization and then switch to being a mage after that. So now I've spent 5 proficiency slots on daggers since that's the only weapon that mages can use, and I have the one slot in fists which was there when I started the game. I can't spend anymore slots on daggers and I have 3 left to spend, so I'm just wondering what I should spend them on. Or should I not even bother spending them at all since mages can't use anything but daggers?

Fists. Particularly so since you can find a spell that gives them a +6 to hit and damage (iirc).
