I know there is some danger of creating saved game errors by modding after a game is in progress, so I'm wondering if that's what's wrong. Here's my situation:
I had the mods suggested by the GOG guide installed on my laptop, and played through fairly far. Then I was switching computers from my old laptop to my desktop, so I ported just the save game, and downloaded from GOG. Then I downloaded the same mods, and I'm 99% sure I installed them exactly the same as before. I loaded up the saved game, and got a little way before getting stuck.
Specifically, I'm stuck in Curst Prison. I have spoken with Trias, and he gave me knowledge to unlock a gate on the west of the map, but now there are two more gates which are locked and can't be unlocked by a thief with 100% open locks. Are these gates supposed to be unlocked? Do I need to restart (and possibly reinstall) the game? Or is there another key somewhere I'm too dense to find?

One of the guards has a fingerbone key.
Thank you!
I have the finger key but I cannot get through the 2nd ring. Any advice would be great, it just insists that it is locked. Thank you

There's a bloody note that talks about standing on a pressure plate or something like that; this note apparently acts as a key to that door. I read the note then dropped it to save inventory space, but found I couldn't pass that particular door without having that note in my inventory. This was on the enhanced edition but you're describing exactly the issue I had so I thought I'd chime in, even though this is an old thread, fwiw.
