my platform is: win7 x64 SP1 & nvidia geforce 7600GS

whenever a spell is cast (regardless who casts it) the animation is replaced by a black box! quite irritating. any way to solve this? (i tried all comparability modes, it is futile)

the note part of this info (http://www.shsforums.net/topic/48732-ddraw-fix-for-slowdownsstuttering/) seems to work to fix spell effects. though it affects the game opening speed and one cannot switch between other windows. gotta compromise :)
