Hi

I am pretty new to the game. At the beginning it was written on your back that you should not tell others about yourself and who you really are. Now I have just gotten out of Mortuary to Sigil. Just wanted to know that is it was wise to tell others that you can't die and resurrect from death? Are there any long term consequences?

Only one, and not a plot-important one at that (you get kicked out from an organization).

However: in part due to its weird fiction aesthetic, Planescape: Torment does have a number of screw-you choices (results of weird magical effects that are not present in any D&D rulebook ever and consequently cannot be dealt with using any character options/abilities whatsoever). Keep a manageable timeline of saves just in case.
Also, if you lie about your name several times, something interesting (not important or plot related) will happen at some point. Keep in mind that lying influences your alignment, making you more chaotic.
