I already have a physical copy of Planescape: Torment and it runs fine on my laptop with Windows 7 64bit.
I'd like to know if the GOG edition has something different like patches, extra content or enhancements that improve the gaming experience, otherwise I'd spend my money on the complete edition of Neverwinter Nights 2 or Icewind Dale :P

P. S. By the way, how is Planescape pronunced? Like "plan-escape" or "plane-scape"? I'm Italian, so I'm not really sure :P

1. I guess the only difference the GOG version has would be the bonus files that come with it, like the soundtrack; otherwise, it's likely the same as your CD. Because most of the improvements for this game exist in the form of fanmade patches, which for various reasons aren't included in GOG's setup.

I would say it is worth getting on here. The physical copy can deteriorate first of all, and, 2nd, it may be more easily mod-able? I'm not sure how the unfinished business/mods/patches work or are applicable to your physical copy, and you should really get them if you don't regardless of getting the game here or not.

Are you nostalgic for CD swapping?

Actually, I have a DVD version so no, I don't have to swap anything :P

They totally are, especially the mod finishing unfinished content and unofficial patch. However, those mods work just fine with both CD and DVD versions of the game (IIRC latter should even be DRM-free)

I'm not into mods either. Almost never. But, for Torment, I find that the two are CRUCIAL. Like, if you haven't played with the unfinished business and the bugfix patch, you haven't experienced the game fully yet and you MUST! But, yeah, as Fenixp said, it's compatible with the other versions, but, but, but, I can't imagine not wanting to have it all digital and stream-lined and in a backed-up format! Hehehe, but then, it is one of my favorite games. So, up to you, but it is worth it to have IMO. You could wait to get it until it is on sale here cheap too, but it is worth the full price even.
