The game's running great and I'm really enjoying it (amazed at the amount of detail and thought that went into the dialogue).

Have a problem though. Every time I try to quicksave, it freezes up and the program stops responding in the saving screen.

Anybody else have this problem?

update: it's not just during quicksave. It's whenever I try to save. The only save mechanism that seems to be working is autosave when you transition to another area. Any help on this would be great, thanks!

Systems specs? OS? Are you using any mods?

No mods, I'm running it on windows 7 32bit on a asus eee netbook. Quicksave worked fine in the beginning, but for some reason now it's not working.
Okay, that's weird. I don't have a solution for you. My only guess would be a corrupted game file.
Have you set the game to run as an administrator? You can toggle it on start up by rightclicking on the shortcut, going to properties and then the compatibility tab.

Try this:

Load an old save from back when this save and quicksave did work, and play for a few minutes. Try saving it with either quicksave or normal save. If that works then the problem is that one of your saves got corrupted and everything since then has been glitching. If that's the case, you can just keep playing from your older save. You'll have to re-do some things, but you'll be able to save again.

If it doesn't work, however, then the game itself is where the problem is. Try setting it to run as Administrator, and running it in Compatibility mode for XP. If that doesn't work, you might need to reinstall... which would suck.

Do you make new saves or try to overwrite an old saves ?

You could compare the file sizes of the autosave versus the quicksave to see if the q/s is corrupted.

If all else fails :

- make backup copy of working autosave.
- delete all files from /cache and /temp folders (game will replace them when necessary)
- delete quicksave from folder.
- start game using working autosave and try to quicksave.
- if it works, make new saves (or delete old saves rather than trying to overwritie).

Got it working, running the program as an administrator.

First tried reloading from an earlier save and then tried THIS (running as administrator). Interestingly enough, my most current saved game was not there (just the two times I had saved when I first opened the game which happened to be, funny enough, *as* an administrator.

Many thanks to everybody for their advice and tips.
