Has anyone gotten PST to work under VMware Fusion? I got it installed, and all the mods by following ThunderPeel2001's awesome guide. The problem is that when I launch it I get the "Programmer says: No valid video modes supported." error. If I reboot in Boot Camp it works fine, it's just under Fusion that I get the error. Has anyone figured a way around this, besides using Parallels?

Thanks,
Omen

If you don't install the widescreen mod and Ghostdog's incredible UI mod, it will work. However, you're then playing in a tiny window.

I haven't found a way to get it working yet either though (with the mod).

That is, it works if you don't install the widescreen mod and Ghost Dog's mod.

I guess that counts as an answer then. I just tried under Virtual Box on my Linux desktop and managed to get it to run at 1440 x 900, so I'll try that on OS X next.
That's actually the resolution that I've been trying to get working myself. Please post back if you figure anything out. I've mostly given up on getting a nice large screen myself.

I actually got it to mostly work under VirtualBox on both Linux and my OS X laptop (which is the one I wanted it to run on). I had to do a clean XP install because VirtualBox doesn't support Boot Camp, and one magic incantation from the command line to make the screen the correct bit depth: //Applications/VirtualBox.app/Contents/MacOS/VBoxManage controlvm WindowXP setvideomodehint 1440 900 16.

I also had to turn off video hardware acceleration on the virtual setup to get rid of the pointer trails.

The downside is that the audio is messed up.

Closer, but not quite there.

EDIT: I downgraded to VirtualBox 3.1.8 and the audio is working much better. Not quite perfect, but much better. You can get old versions here. I haven't had time to downgrade the guest additions to see if that helps too.

I just installed the Widescreen mod and Ghostdog's UI mod and it works perfectly for me. I run VMWare Fusion 3.1.1 and use resolution 1680x1050.

I did have to run the D3DWindower also however to get rid of the flickering cursor and text.
