Hey all, I picked this one up about a week ago, but have not been able to play it. Upon launch, with no mods installed I get the message:

"An Assertion failed in F:\Torment\Source\chitin\ChVideo.cpp at line number 4322 Programmer says: No valid video modes supported."

With the following popping up after closing the original window:

"Your desktop is not set to 16-bit color depth. As a result, movies will not play in windowed mode. I addition, many spell effects and other special graphical features may not work properly. It is suggested that you run in full-screen mode or switch your desktop to 16-bit color depth before running in window mode. Continue at current color depth? Y/N"

I select 'No' and proceed to right click the Torment shortcut, and follow the steps to go about changing the color depth to 16-bit for Torment. I launch the game again, and am met with the first message again, but not the second.

I really have no idea what the problem is guys, and any help you could provide would be much appreciated.

My specs:

- Resolution: 1920 x 1080
- OS: Windows 8
- Processor: AMD A10-5700
- Graphics: Radeon HD Graphics, 3400 Mhz, 2 cores

That is a common error that occurs if you install the widescreen mod and select a resolution that's not supported by either the mod or your hardware. Are you sure that 'no mods installed' includes the widescreen mod?
