hey just joined today and bought planescape torment and BG 2, got halfway through downloading torment and got a "Whoops: There was an error requesting the file! All transfers stopped, sry :( [E1004], went to the site help area, tried again, re-installed the gog downloader, still got a problem is there any known fix, or way around this? Thanks for any info

Hi,

The downloader works more or less ok most of the time but it still has a few kinks that need to be adressed by gog.

You can try to download the game files using your internet browser.
, yeah I tried to download again, but timed out on explorer, I'll keep it at, thanks for the info
If you can't download the file, and since you already tried gog's downloader and your browser, there's a chance there's some problem with that file at the location you're getting it from.

You should contact support, if the problem lies somewhere on the tubes support will want to look into that.
Bonjour!

I don't know what the specific problem was in your download, but the gog support links are here: http://www.gog.com/en/support/planescape_torment

Planescape was the 1st game I downloaded as well, and I thought I was doing it wrong (because every time it finished downloading to my desktop, the file wouldn't open; it turns out that my firewall was stopping it from doing opening, so I turned off my internet connection, then turned off my firewall, and then the game file opened and thus installed perfectly).

So what I did was perform the steps in Number 4) on this page:
http://www.gog.com/en/support/planescape_torment/_i_general_download_problem_troubleshooting_steps_i_

My advice to you is to download one game at a time. Like 1st download Planscape, then once that it was done, only then start downloading BG2. Perhaps it may even be something silly like your internet service provider messing up via a power outage or something like that.

Hope it works out for you! Those two and BG1 are the best games ever!
Merci mes amis! Appreciate all the help, just 57.7 mb away from the promised land, (Though it keeps getting stuck and then going, oh well) almost there...
Ah merde, download complete...installation files corrupted...here we go again
1st, keep the file anyway, Genseric10.

Turn off your internet, then turn off your firewall. Then click on the Planscape file you downloaded. It should do a 'file integrity check.'

If it fails instead of prompting you to install it thereafter, then try downloading it again, using the instructions found here: http://www.gog.com/en/support/planescape_torment/_i_general_corrupt_or_broken_downloads_i_

But INSTEAD of doing number 3 on that link, instead you should do number 4) on this link:
http://www.gog.com/en/support/planescape_torment/_i_general_download_problem_troubleshooting_steps_i_
(it's slightly different, but that's how I did a successful install of Planescape; oddly enough I haven't had to do it since, so perhaps it wasn't needed for me, but nevertheless its a good way to troubleshoot your problem here).

Hope it works!

Hey appreciate the help, did the re-download, as per your instructions now only 1 hr to go and so far no problems, thanks for the help and Happy New Year all!
Good luck with the download and Happy New Year ;)
Very strange, I've got a similar problem, it does complete the download, but is is corrupted, I'm at the fourth attempt now.
