I'm currently in the Outlands attempting to return to curst. I know the location of the portal but it won't seem to appear; when I walk into the area, I can hear the sound effect of a portal appearing, but one is not seen and nor is there a cursor prompt to travel. Any suggestions?

Try saving in a new slot and exiting the game entirely. Some people have reported that the portal will load correctly after restarting the program.

Did the trick, thank you. Little embarassing really; after all the thorough experimentation I've done with other problems in games, the solution was that simple this time.
