I am in Carceri and my game is not recognizing right clicks on items to bring up the item's information screen. Also, the map and menus flash off very quickly after I enter them (not long enough to move the map or enter the menus). This has occurred with all of my saves from different points of the game. Any advice?

If you've got an Nvidia graphics card, update it to the newest drivers.
Also try deactivating hardware acceleration of your graphics card, e.g. in the Nvidia Control Panel or in the Windows 7 Control Panel like this:
- Select Start => Control Panel => Personalization and select Display Settings.
- Click Advanced Settings and Change Settings on the Troubleshooting tab
- Apply the changes and restart Windows
